Furkan Temir

The artist and self-taught photographer Furkan Temir (born in 1995) spent his boyhood and teenage years in a small town in eastern Turkey, then settled in Istanbul in the early 2010s, after obtaining a study grant from the film department of the State University. It was during those years that his interest in photojournalism developed; his projects involved him in numerous journeys in Turkey and abroad. Combining different techniques—painting, video, photography, installation–, his works have the minorities of the Middle East as their main subject. His photographs have been published in The New York Times, Time, Stern, Paris Match and The Guardian. Furkan Temir’s work has been shown in solo exhibitions in Germany, Italy, France, Poland and Turkey, He is represented by the VII photographic agency (programme Mentor).
