Sohrab Sepehri

Sohrab Sepehri (1928-1980) was one of the first and most important poets of what has been called the ‘new poetry’ in Iran, a movement started in the 1920s. His poetry collections include La Mort de la couleur (1951), La Vie des rêves (1952), Décombres du soleil (1961), Champ vert (1967) and the anthology Huit livres (1977), all published in Iran, some of which have been translated into French. But Sohrab Sepehri, who travelled all over the world, was also, and perhaps above all, a painter. He exhibited his work between 1962 and 1978, in the cities of Paris, New York, Tehran, Shiraz, and São Paulo…
