Nadia Mounajjed

Nadia Mounajjed (born in France in 1976) has a PhD from Sheffield University, and an MA in architectural design from University College London. Her research focuses on the theory of the body, the politics of space, and visual culture in the Middle East and the Gulf Region, and more specifically in the United Arab Emirates. Since 2013, she has been working as an associate professor at Abu Dhabi University. Between 2007 and 2012, she was lecturer at the American University in Sharjah (UAE), and, in 2012, guest professor at the London School of Economics. An architect by training, she is a certified member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. She also edited the publication Visual Culture(s) in the Gulf: An Anthology, published by the Gulf Research Center Cambridge in 2016.
