The author and scriptwriter Hossein Mortezaeian Abkenar lives and works in Tehran. He has written short story collections and novels, published in Iran, including Le Concert des târs interdits (1999), Parfum français (2003) and Le Scorpion à la gare d’Andimechk (2006), which won the Golshiri prize in 2006 and was translated into French (Le Scorpion, Paris, L’Œuvre, 2011). Abkenar teaches literature at Tehran university. Among other things, he wrote the screenplay for the film No One Knows About Persian Cats directed by Bahman Ghobadi (2009).
